[Mar 2026] SIA Lab opens at University of Seoul. Prof. Heeseung Kim joins the Department of Artificial Intelligence as an Assistant Professor.
At SIA Lab, we explore how AI can communicate with humans in the most natural way: through speech. Our core research focuses on speech-based AI that can listen, understand, and speak in real-time, just like humans do in everyday conversations.
Starting from speech, we are expanding into broader modalities including audio, video, and text to build AI that can fully perceive and engage with the world. Our long-term vision is to create intelligent agents that can perceive, reason, and act autonomously and proactively alongside humans in everyday life.
