[Mar 2026] SIA Lab opens at University of Seoul. Prof. Heeseung Kim joins the Department of Artificial Intelligence as an Assistant Professor.
At SIA Lab, we study how AI can perceive the world and interact with people as naturally as humans do. Our research spans three directions: interactive and proactive AI that understands what people are doing and helps at the right moment; generative models that create realistic and controllable content across modalities; and speech, audio, and music AI that hears, understands, and generates sound.
Our long-term goal is to build intelligent agents that perceive, reason, and act alongside people in everyday life, communicating with them in real time through natural conversation.
